I don't normally write about services I haven't tested out, but this time it's different. The service in question is Agatra, a new way to store your passwords and automatically log in to your favorite sites. From the FAQ:

Agatra is a free service that securely stores your passwords online so that they're accessible from anywhere you have an internet connection. It can even log you in directly to most sites! Create an Agatra login and start saving time today! Agatra uses a block cypher encryption technology which has never been compromised. It's so secure that not even employees of Agatra can gain access to your usernames or passwords.

Great, but I'm still not using it. The reason is obvious: while Agatra appears to be bona fide (they're not scammers, as far as I can tell), I wouldn't trust my passwords to anyone, never mind how secure the system is or how convenient it seems. And yes, multiple passwords are infuriating, but I'm not sure that anyone in their right mind would trust all their passwords to a single service like Agatra. And if you fully trust Agatra with your data, you've got another problem coming: this service is so secure that you can't recover your master password if you forget it. Nope - not ever. I'm sure Agatra has noble aims, but unfortunately I don't see myself becoming a customer anytime soon.
