MenuTree is an online guide for take-out restaurants that's currently in beta testing. The site allows users to add a restaurant, tag it and upload a menu. There are currently 50 restaurants and 30 menus listed, submitted by a total of 172 users. You can see the location of any restaurant plotted on a Google Map and add the entries to your favorites.
But while MenuTree might be beautifully designed (perhaps even over-designed), it's decidedly lacking when it comes to the most important thing: the content. The guide should ideally be pre-populated with information from a database, or at least focus on a specific geographic area so they can build up some useful content. In its present state, it's a pretty site with low utility.
