We've already seen hundreds of niche MySpace clones, but now it looks like the same trend is going to play out with YouTube (whether we like it or not!). WeatherBug Video, a new service from the established weather site, is literally YouTube for weather - you can upload videos of extreme weather, storms and other weather-related events for others to view, rate, share and comment on. Uploads are handled through a web-based form.

The videos are ad supported and the site also supplies professionally created weather reports. You're encouraged to bookmark the clips on del.icio.us, Newsvine and the rest - you can also link directly to the videos. However, the service lacks tagging, RSS feeds and the ability to embed videos in your blog or MySpace page.

If you're not crazy about meteorology, I'm sure this could wear thin fairly quickly, but I do think WeatherBug Video is a good attempt - it's well designed, well implemented and fun to use. Not bad at all.
