FotoDUNK, which has been on and off my radar for the last few months, is a lightweight tool for putting cellphone photos and slideshows on MySpace, Bebo, hi5, Xanga and Friendster (yeah, that list is getting repetitive). As part of some fairly standard MySpace marketing, the service has its own MySpace page, although strangely the widget doesn't seem to be displaying right now (you can see it in action here). It's not a fully featured tool, but it does have the advantage of being drop-dead simple: just email or MMS the picture to [email protected] and it gets added to your account. However, a quick search of MySpace shows they aren't getting much uptake - presumably due to a lack of momentum and because Photobucket already offers a comparable service.

Similar tools include Mojungle, Abazab and Umundo - all of these also support video uploads. Personally, I think all these players could be cut out of the loop by Photobucket, ImageShack and MySpace itself - the technology is just too darned easy to clone. In fact, adding cellphone photos to MySpace is becoming a real cliché - it's the MySpace equivalent of social bookmarking.
