We've received multiple emails in the last hour or so that Facebook has pulled its Pulse feature without an explanation - it now redirects to the homepage.

Pulse was launched in December 2005, and acted like Facebook's version of Google Zeitgeist. It showed both the most used terms on each campus and the trends over time, offering interesting insights for students and a goldmine of info for marketers who want to know what's cool with the youth demographic. Music, movies, TV, books, clubs and organizations and personal interests were all listed. There was also a "Did You Know" section that highlighted interesting stats.

The said, it's all gone today. Our sources at Facebook suggest that there wasn't anywhere to link to Pulse from the interface, and it was underutilized.
