ReverbNation is announcing a partnership today with Snocap, the music distribution company that already has a deal to sell songs through MySpace Music. The ReverbNation deal is similar, allowing fans to buy music from the artist's ReverbNation profile page or through TunePaks, playlists that can be shared via links in email, IM and on the web. ReverbNation artists need to log in to their accounts and activate the DistroNow module - a "buy songs" button will then appear on their profile page and TunePaks that contain their songs. What isn't yet clear is whether they'll have the purchase option within the new widgetized players.

As mentioned previously, ReverbNation competes against many music social networks - MOG, Last.fm, iLike, FineTune and MP3.com to name a few. But with the exception of Last.fm and those that focus on personal recommendations, many of these compete directly with MySpace Music - since MySpace has a virtual monopoly on this market, that's a real challenge. Meanwhile, both Sonific and SoundStation compete with Snocap to some extent.
