On Tuesday, NBC Universal's iVillage Live will be introducing its Live Online Chat during the streaming broadcast of the daily talk show. NBC has been looking for more ways to add community aspects to their iVillage counterpart, and Mashable provided exclusive coverage of iVillage Connect, their full-fledged social network launched earlier this month. With live online chat occurring simultaneously with iVillage Live, the show and the site become more interactive and engage the audience further, instead of passively viewing the show. Users will be able to interact directly with the show's hosts and each other.
NBC's live online chat feature is powered by Prospero, a company that provides scalable interactive features such as chat for many large companies looking to better involve their user base. They also have a new social networking platform called ProfileSN. Prospero will also be powering NBC's additional community initiatives such as their Message Boards and Personal Journals in Pregnancy and Baby Plus.
