WAYN.com, the travel social network that claims 8 million members, is announcing a partnership today with the aggregated travel search engine Kayak.

No surprises about how this fits together: users can search for flights on the WAYN site and get redirected to the airlines' sites to make their purchases. Kayak takes a cut along the way, and WAYN gets some kind of kickback. The search feature will be launched in beta ahead of an official debut.

We last covered WAYN back in November 2006, when the UK-based company had raised $11 million in Series A funding from a group of investors led by Esprit Capital Partners. This latest deal, however, is so obvious that it doesn't require any commentary: other travel social networks will no doubt monetize in the same way.
