Xing operator Open Business Club AG has acquired eConozco, a fairly large social network for professionals in Spain, it was announced today. The amount was not disclosed.
eConozco is the second largest social network for the Spanish community, and has reached a critical mass with 150,000 users and a monthly growth rate of 11%. Xing feels that eConozco's user base is very similar to its own, and will use this acquisition as an effective segway into the Spanish professional networking market.
