Picli is Digg For Photos...Yawn

Picli, another newcomer cloning the Digg interface, is an online photo gallery sustained by a community that shares content and votes on images. It's along the lines of a bare bones Flickr or MorgueFile where images can be taken and used for other purposes, but I don't see any information regarding a creative commons license or even a way to search images. In addition, little information about the user is provided, making it less likely that Picli is a site for sharing photos to be used elsewhere.

It is, in short, a Digg for photography, implemented before Digg has been able to roll out a photo section, despite widespread support for the idea. That said, Picli's focus on arty photos will probably differentiate it from the "awesome!" and "unbelievable!" photos that Digg users will pick if this section is ever added.

While the idea of Picli is to promote the most creative content to the front page, there is no way to vote content down. This may result in a select few images remaining at the top for an inordinate amount of time. Otherwise, some additional community and search features may make site navigation a bit easier as well.
