Fabrik, the company that serves up "Web 2.0" storage software and the hardware to accompany it, will start shipping new external storage drives today.
The SimpleTech SimpleDrive, with design by Ferrari designer Pininfarina, comes in red, white, sapphire, onyx and gray. The capacity ranges from 160GB to 500GB, and drives come with a 2GB myfabrik.com account.
I'm not yet convinced that Fabrik's web software plus hardware combo will take off - it's an attempt to be the Apple of online storage, I guess. Fabrik also produced MyFabrikLite, a simple storage solution for MySpace and social networking users.
