SourceForge, Krugle Team Up for Open Source Code Search

SourceForge.net has partnered with the code search engine Krugle in order to provide contextual search queries for some of the 145,000 open source projects hosted at SourceForge.net. Krugle's search will be integrated with SourceForge.net's project browsing tree.

As SourceForge is among the largest hosts for open source software, being able to filter and search through such a large amount of data is vital. Performing a regular search will not reveal anything close to what the Krugle-SourceForge.net partnership will provide, since Krugle is specifically designed for searching within code - the existing SourceForge search didn't even look at the code. On the flipside, Krugle now has access to project metadata from SourceForge, meaning that the search engine at Krugle.com will start providing better results.

Krugle also powers search for the Yahoo Developer Network.
