Unable to land deals with any American networks, Al Jazeera English is launching a YouTube channel on Monday. Fittingly, perhaps, the launch of Al Jazeera English in November 2006 was seen by most Westerners on YouTube anyway, and we've continued to see clips posted.
Al Jazeera is thought by the American TV networks to be anti-America and anti-Israel, but ultimately they shouldn't have a veto on what is broadcast - wouldn't it be ironic if America was trying to uphold American values and patriotism by quashing free speech? It's all on YouTube now, so it's up to you to decide. That is, until some 15 year old sends YouTube a fake takedown notice.
