MixerCast Launches MySpace Video Mixes

MixerCast, which launched on Monday, is the latest service to provide mashed up media players for MySpace and blogs. Mixercast doesn't really make distinctions about media types - pretty much anything can be mixed into a presentation built using either the Mixercast Wizard (step by step) or the Mixercast designer (more freedom).

Using templates that can take media from all types of hosting sites (YouTube, MySpace, Flickr and the rest), you can place these media types in the appropriate slots and create a pretty advanced presentation like the one embedded below.

Like all these tools, our first reaction is that it's pretty cool, if a little undifferentiated. But now I think we're approaching a point at which users have too many choices, and the network effects may continue to favor the big guys like Photobucket and RockYou. Unless, of course, they get themselves blocked.
