Panraven is another new site, still in private beta, that lets you easily create your own story.
Panraven operates much like a scrap booking site where you can choose from great templates for different occasions (weddings, baby stories). Photos and text can be added for your content. I love that Panraven offers detailed instructions for all aspects of their site, which can be turned off as well. The stories displayed on the site read like a book. You can toggle between full and mini screen, view the story as a slide show, and change the speed. Public stories are available for all to view, and public content can be used for your own stories as well. Your stories can also be printed as a physical book, for a reasonable price.
As Panraven is a place to share stories, I'm hoping their private beta phase concludes with the addition of more social features. Currently, there is no way to view another's profile or add them to your friends list. While you can send your own stories outside the Panraven, I'd also love to have the option of emailing a public story to a friend. Something else that might be helpful is providing just a few leading questions here and there for different story templates, as DrumTable does with their blogs. I wonder if a service like this will ever be incorporated with a family tree site? Another in this space includes Scrapblog.
