MySpace announces today their plans to host a Presidential Town Hall series to be held on college campuses starting this September, through December.
In an effort to continually support political awareness, the MySpace Town Hall will provide an environment for dialogue between a single Presidential candidate and the MySpace community via instant messenger. MySpace participants can chat and watch live with the accompanying MySpace webcast. Users can submit questions from home to spur the Town Hall conversation. Probably just as important as the Town Hall series itself is the fact that questions asked to the candidates will be unfiltered. This is the web 2.0 version of Presidential forums that have been held on college campuses for years. From my understanding, politicians will be available through a webcast instead of politicians traveling from campus to campus.
