Flash Buddy Cards can be considered a portable 30Boxes profile page. It's embeddable, so you can take them with you to your personal website or blog, or Myspace, Bebo, Hi5 or Piczo profiles. The Buddy Card will show the pertinent 30Boxes profile info, which all links back to your public 30Boxes page. The Buddy Card will also broadcast media from your social profiles, including your Twitter status, Flickr photos, 30Boxes calendar events, and blog entries. In this sense, it works as a Photobucket or RockYou slideshow combined with a blog roll and Twitter feed. The Buddy Card comes in two sizes and four colors, and additional customization will be available soon.
These Buddy Cards are moving 30Boxes in the direction of a distributed social network, something that most online communities are investing a lot of time and energy into. Splashcast, Slide, Box.net, and so many others are looking to create multimedia widgets that convey more about one's personal identity but incorporate more levels of interactivity as well.
