RockYou, the popular slideshow widget creator, will announce tomorrow a partnership with several music companies including Snocap, Fliptrack, Pump Audio and Nettwerk Records.
The partnership with all these music companies will greatly expand the music choices for users to pick from when making their RockYou widgets. The partnership also means that the music companies now have more ways to spread content and monetize widgets on social networks. Artists promoted through Snocap MyStores will be able to have their music sold on RockYou's site as well. Fliptrack, which provides a service for creating musical slideshows and videos, will be offering its music synchronization technology to RockYou slideshows along with some 240,000 songs from its catalog. In addition, Fliptrack and RockYou will collaborate on future music contests and promotions.
Snocap, which already has a deal with music licensing company Pump Audio, is another company that has become quite known for its own widget offerings. Actually, RockYou, plus the music companies that it's partnering with, represent a large portion of the widget presence on MySpace, for both music and photos. As Photobucket, the other major slideshow widget creator, is in the process of being acquired by MySpace itself, RockYou appears to be creating alliances. What's more, Snocap is still in good standing with MySpace.
