You can search by tags, which are automatically saved as your interests, location, or category. You can also get ideas from top members on the site, which are the most active and have the most friends. A good portion of Attendio's functions can be utilized without being a member as well, which can be useful and engaging.
Better yet, you can follow the interests and saved events of other users, or get recommendations from knowledgeable "editors" which currently include Adam Duritz, lead singer of Counting Crows, among others in the entertainment industry. Attendio has SMS integration, so most of the above features are accessible through your mobile phone. Listing an event includes a good amount of customization as well, including images, banner URLs, and links.
Attendio also has a widget for every user, which is beautifully branded and can be sent directly to your social networking profile or blog, or sent to a friend's MySpace page as a comment. In all, we really like what Attendio has done to combine this level of social networking with event discovery. Attendio can be used for event promotion as well, and could work superbly as a multi-faceted widget that bands and organizations can place on their websites.
