Startup Search will also provide information regarding investors, companies, and products. Offering a broader scope for information regarding the main components on the site, Startup Search layers in data on buzz and competitors, Google maps and Flickr photos for the extra context you might be looking for. The lists for its main components, including companies and products, do not yet represent web 2.0 culture in its entirety, and I'm not sure how they've picked the companies shown (by influence? determined how?). I anticipate a lot more information being added to Startup Search as time goes on.
This could be a helpful tool for bloggers in the industry, as a quick reference guide on the movers and shakers, and history surrounding web 2.0 as we know it.
