Amnesty International is starting a campaign called Instant Karma to raise money for Darfur, the war-torn area of Sudan, using GoodStorm music widgets to sell re-recorded John Lennon songs.

The widget will be used on social networking sites like MySpace, and on individual blogs, and will promote the "Instant Karma" album with Lennon tracks that have been redone by U2, REM and Green Day, among others. In an effort to aid the victims of mass genocide and the ongoing displacement of people, the Instant Karma campaign is leveraging the web's potential viral community nature to raise awareness and funds.

The campaign will be using GoodStorm's MixedTape release, which was launched earlier this week in pre-beta. The MixedTape feature allows you to make your own mixes to be placed in your widget player. The widget can be instantly shared with site visitors, as the code is provided directly from the widget. The music widget will be added to the Amnesty International website next week. The promotion will also include television and radio commercials, and print ads to sell the Instant Karma album.

GoodStorm also runs a T-shirt store, where you can create your own design and set up an online shop. Unfortunately, the two services are not related, and there is no widget available for selling T-shirts.
