Oodle, the classifieds search engine, is launching a vertical specifically to track bands and musicians.
With the oodle band tracker, you can search for your favorite artists and insert the city you'd like to receive information for, along with your email address. You'll get automatic email updates for the bands you track. Search results on oodle's band tracker will give you the option of searching for tickets on oodle as well.
With a registered account, you can track several bands and artists at once and have a central location for all your tracking information. You can also create a widget for the bands you're tracking, which will show the tour dates for your favorite band in the city of your choice. The other widget acts as a mini band tracker itself, enabling site visitors to search for the bands of their choice. The tool is obviously helpful for bands looking for another way in which to keep fans updated.
In related news, oodle has created a classifieds search tool as a Facebook application. I think the band tracker would be a great addition to the Facebook app family as well.
