PodZinger, the search engine for podcasts and videos, has been renamed EveryZing, and has raised $10 million in funding led by Fairhavent Capital, Accel and General Catalyst, bringing the company's total funding amount to $15 million.

The funding will go towards changing the company's direction, using its speech recognition technology to help publishers push content to major search engines for the purpose of getting more relevant advertising. As the difficulty in scanning audio and video content for search purposes remains a large barrier for optimal search results and advertising potential, this is a major focus for EveryZing's future. It directly pertains to the improved ability to monetize audio and video content more effectively, if PodZinger's accuracy rate is what it claims to be: 85-90% accurate.

As we know, relying on technology to do the work of a human has its shortcomings, as PodZinger's accuracy rate still leaves up to 15% margin for error. It can't be worse than Google's contextual ads that show up on your GMail pages, right? Considering Google's new Reports for AdSense, we're seeing more convergence of technology with the human element for search and advertising purposes.

PodZinger rivals include blinkx and adap.tv.
