Freewebs as officially announced WidgetCon 2007, a conference for marketers and executives to discuss the progressive use of widgets, of course. The one-day conference takes place at the Tribes Cinemas in New York, on July 11th.
We mentioned WidgetCon briefly when Freewebs and WidgetBox announced their widget contest in search of the most innovative widget in the world. The winner of this contest will be announced and awarded at WidgetCon. The conference itself is one of the first that's fully dedicated to discussing the marketing potential of widgets, encourage collaboration amongst businesses and furthered development. Chris Jones, former CEO of JWT is the keynote speaker, and other speakers include Ed Anuff, CEO of WidgetBox, and Chris Cunningham, VP of Sales at Freewebs.
