Stixy is a new whiteboard collaboration tool. It's currently in private beta, but you can still play around with a few test pages if you'd like.

The tools provided by Stixy are very easy to use. Add widgets to your whiteboard such as text boxes, photo frames, document icons and to do items. Documents don't appear in a viewable widget box such as with Scribd, but work more like box.net, granting you and others access to open and download the document for yourself. Images are displayed directly on the screen and can be easily resized, and Stixy also provides a couple of basic photo effects options. Everything can be moved on your whiteboard using drag'n'drop ease, and your documents can also be shared with others for online collaboration.

Stixy has a strong design and some good basic tools. As there are no web-based word-processing options or the ability to chat, Stixy will have quite a time facing its competition. Perhaps they could add the option of inserting your own widget, for Scribd or video purposes. Rival Vyew has far more tools for document creation that mimic a Word Processor. Some tools such as Zude go after the personal creator side of a user, while Stixy goes after the business necessities of a user.

Similar services include Buzzword, Octopz , WebChops and Zoho Notebook.
