Cfares, the airfare search tool, has announced a round $4.5 million of venture capital and has appointed a few new members to its team. The round was led by Claremont Creek Ventures, with previous investor Garage Technology Ventures partnering as well.

Founded in Feburary 2005, cfares offers a free and a members only airfare search service that grants access to wholesale fares, and it has gained a good amount of traction from its unique business model. It's appointed to the board Naren Nath as President, Nat Goldhabor as managing Partner, and Michael Gunn, a veteran in the airfare industry, to its advisory board.

Cfares launched a new feature as well, which is an enhanced dashboard charting the comparison points between its service and other industry leaders. This display indicates your search results in a chart showing the differences between flight time and airline, offering more transparency to airfare search and where to find the most affordable price for what you're looking for. While cfares isn't always the most cost-effective way to go, it usually is. This coupled with its ability to reserve a ticket for you at your desired price makes for a great argument as to the benefits of cfares service.
