MySpace is officially launching its service for Mexico, and is hosting a Secret Show performance featuring Latin alternative rock band Cafe Tacuba in Mexico City on July 31.

The beta launch for the Mexican version of MySpace took place early this year, and has seen significant growth, and the Spanish version of MySpace's instant messenger has seen some great traction as well. The Secret Show performance featuring Cafe Tacuba is in conjunction with the band's upcoming album release later on this fall. The show is free for MySpace users that register and add MySpace Secret Shows Mexico to their friends list. The Secret Shows have become a staple for MySpace, aligning nicely with the initial attraction of the social network as a hub for indie musicians. This is especially highlighted by the fact that MySpace Mexico partnered with EMI to launch a compilation CD to recognize unknown artists. Previous Secret Show musicians include The Killers and Gnarls Barkley.
