SpinVox, the UK-based voice-to-text service, has teamed up with Skype to offer its features for the VoIP provider. This new feature is set to be made available around the end of the year.
It works like this: you'll be able to leave a voice message for other Skype users that aren't avalable, which will be translated into text by SpinVox, and sent to the user's cell phone via text messaging. The sender's Skype ID will be included in the message. This gives some semblance of mobile access to Skype for the recipient, and keeps them from missing too many messages. SpinVox's service is currently available in English, German, Spanish and French.
