Mosio Launches Mobile Q&A

Mosio is a new Q&A service that lets you send and receive questions on your mobile phone.

Once you've registered your phone with Mosio, you can save it as a contact, and send questions along any time you'd like. You'll get up to four answers in return, via text message as well. Who's answering all these questions? The Mosio agents. These are users that have registered to become the smart folks that reply to your questions. Agents receive emails with incoming questions, and they can choose the ones they'd like to answer.

The online component of the site is set up like a discussions board: questions can be posted, and others reply to the question in a nested conversation thread. You cannot reply to another user's answer. If you view someone else's profile, you can see the questions they've submitted and answered. You can also add them to your friends list, and keep up with their Q&A activity.

It may be too easy to become a Mosio agent, as there's no way to filter the type of questions that are being sent to you. This means that with any traction, the questions coming into your inbox could become overwhelming and rather irrelevant. I'd also like to see the ability to subscribe to friends' activity, as well as some mobile integration for agents, so questions can be answered on the go as well.

Other recent developments for staying connected via SMS include Unwired Nation, SpinVox and Foonz.
