.Mac, Apple's $99.95/year suite of online tools used largely by Mac OSX users, has received a series of upgrades announced at the Mac summer press conference today. The amount of storage has increased by 10 times: 10GB of combined storage space for your .Mac e-mail account and “iDisk" (virtual drive for docs, music, photos and the rest). The data transfer limit is up, too: 100GB/month makes it ten times the previous limit.
Much of this is designed to help with Apple's latest "Web 2.0" efforts: the new “Web Gallery” features announced today for Photo and iMovie let you send media straight to your .Mac Web gallery. You can also send media to your gallery from the iPhone.
