AOL has relaunched its mobile search service, with an improved user interface and easier access to its own service offerings. Changes have been made for both regular phones and smart phones.

With the revamped beta launch, the tool has been optimized for use on Windows Mobile devices, implementing horizontal tabs that change with your search query. These tabs grant access to some of AOL's other services, like MapQuest, CityGuide and Moviefone, depending on the context of your search. There will also be an integrated Click2Call feature to make it easier for mobile users to connect directly with businesses and individuals. This is a tool that Google Maps has removed from its online search, but may expand for its own mobile offerings.

In addition, AOL's recent acquisition, Third Screen Media, has been integrated into the new mobile search service, displaying ads that are optimized for WAP and smart phone capabilities. Currently only Windows Mobile phones are supported for the new mobile search.
