"Web 1.0" stalwart Evite, the event organization service that's still partying like it's 1999, is finally getting an upgrade. But don't expect the changes to come at the speed of most web development: mobile features will come "later this year", while an interface overhaul won't happen until 2008. The site will also integrate with MySpace (via widgets) and Facebook. They may also leverage Bebo and Hi5. And later this year, they'll start selling party accessories through an unnamed partner.

The intent is good, but the move may be a little slow as Socializr, MyPunchBowl and many others vie for this space. While these tiny sites didn't used to be a problem, they now have huge networks like Facebook to leverage for traffic.
