Conduit Labs: Social Networking Meets MMOGs

Cambridge, MA-based Conduit Labs will announce funding on Wednesday. The $5.5 million Series A round was led by Charles River Ventures and Prism VentureWorks, with Charles River's Susan Wu and Prism's Will Kohler joining the board of directors.

The company is building a type of multiplayer online game influenced by social networking (or virtual world, more correctly), but right now we have more info on the team than the product: founder Nabeel Hyatt was previously at Ambient Devices (makers of products such as the glowing stock market orb) while fellow team members Dan Ogles, Michael Sheidow and Daniel O'Brien contributed to the popular Playstation 2 game Guitar Hero, 3D MMOG Asheron's Call and the Lord of the Rings Online.
