Virgin Mobile USA has teamed up with Intercasting Corporation to use its ANTHEM platform in order to offer a slew of online social networks via mobile access to its customers.

The sites you can now access via your Virgin Mobile phone include AsianAve, BlackPlanet, Glee, MiGente, LiveJournal, Rabble, Vox, and Xanga. You'll notice that Virgin has done well to offer something for just about everybody. These new partners include pretty much half of the SixApart family of blogs, and a nice diverse set of online niche communities coming from Community Connect.

Intercasting's Anthem platform specializes in optimizing social networks for mobile use. Pricing options will vary based on customer use, letting users choose to pay by the day or month, or by volume. Starting at a daily fee of $1.00, you can access each social network for up to 0.5MB, or pay $3.99 for 5MB of data. Intercasting's Anthem is a downloadable Java app, and will cost an initial 10 cents to get set up.
