CafeMom, the social network for mothers, has received $5 million in its latest round of funding. The round was led by Highland Capital Partners and Draper Fisher Jurveston, who have been heavily involved in backing the company for several years now. About $50 million has been given to the niche social network since the days of the first Internet boom from Highland Capital and DFJ. Other previous investors include Himalaya Capital Ventures and Perseus.

Other recent developments with niche social networks for mothers include the launching of YummyFriends, which is specifically for busy moms, and YourOnRamp, which helps moms get back into the workplace after taking time off to raise kids.
