Spigit, the incubation community that lets you do a "trial run" for the success of your website, has launched a site for the Election 2008 coverage. Read our review of Spigit here.

With this dedicated portion of its site, users can review potential presidential candidates, and share their two cents regarding each one. Similar to the stock trading system that runs Spigit's community, you can trade shares for candidates. In this manner, users earn currency or reputation points through site activity and smart investing. Prizes will be granted to the top ten Spigit members that have earned the most in regards to their virtual trades on candidates.

There are several sites that are building communities around the presidential election, from Indecision2008 to Knover. YouTube has teamed up with CNN to hold presidential debates online, with user participation, bringing web 2.0 that much closer to the election year. VoteKast has also gotten in on the act, offering polls options designed for the elections. Nevertheless, Spigit is one of the few sites where you can invest and trade on various candidates. MediaPredict is another site where you can put your "money" where your mouth is, and I wouldn't be surprised to see something related to presidential elections on this site as well.
