Blogger Visitors Under Attack by Malware

Hijackers are using Google's Blogger to spread malicious links in an attack that began around August 27.

These malicious users are posting fake entries to hundreds of spam blogs they created, containing weblinks that will redirect you to malware that, if downloaded, can infect a Windows PC. The malware will find personal data that can be sold, or used for additional attacks. The links are typically concealed as links to YouTube or greeting cards sites. Through a combination of spam and the new Blogger campaign, it's thought the group has infected over one million PCs in the past 8 months.

Google may be able to fix the issue, we suspect, by searching out all the spam blogs (most presumably use similar text and links) and nuking them. It is, however, another dent in Blogger's image: it's already known for hosting a large number of spam blogs.
