Vugaru's "Prom Queen" is launching its spin-off series "Prom Queen: Summer Heat" and it has a group of distributors for distribution.
Partners include Bebo, MySpace, YouTube, Veoh, Verizon, Imeem, Revver and Blinkx. Additionally, its deal with VideoEgg will be incorporated into its distribution, and its deal with Starstyle brings in e-commerce incorporation. The spin-off show will pick up where Prom Queen left off, dramatizing the summer after prom night. There will be 15 episodes at two minutes each, running through August and September on the numerous platform partners.
With the success of Prom Queen, it's not surprising that the spin-off show has been launched. The creator, Michael Eisner, was among the first to merge traditional and new media on this level, leveraging social networks and video-sharing networks for the buzz and distribution of "Prom Queen." Afterworld, which has recently debuted on MySpace, is following in Prom Queen's footsteps.
