Slacker, the free Internet radio service, has penned several major deals with big time labels EMI, Universal, and Warner, lending music content to Slacker users for the site's Personal Radio Service. Additionally, Slacker has signed agreements with a handful of indie labels and distributors as well, including IODA, The Orchard, Beggars Group, Matador Records, IRIS, Ubiquity Records and Sanctuary Group PLC.
The company has recently announced a partnership with Sony BMG, and now has agreements with all 4 major record labels for content distribution. With Slacker's personalization tools for radio stations and portable players, music is customized and refreshed via wifi or USB.
