Mozy, an online data storage service, has reportedly been acquired by EMC. TechCrunch says the price tag is $76 million.
Mozy works by automatically backing up selected parts of your hard drive, which you can then access through their site. The company offers both a personal edition and a version designed for business users. The deal seems like a natural fit for EMC, a $40 billion publicly traded data storage company with thousands of customers to whom they can now sell Mozy.
