Tubes, a media storage and sharing service, has announced two new deals for customers that will be using the company’s new tools for extending Tubes’ Web functionality to the desktop.

First, the company announced that floorplanner.com, which allows people to design floor plans online, will be using Tubes to provide real estate agents, home surveyors, and designers with the ability to view their floor plans while offline. This makes a lot of sense – there isn’t likely to be reliable Internet access at a new construction site.

The second deal was with Edmunds.com, an auto information site. Edmunds will be using Tubes to help manage their content and let users access it both online and offline, under the Edmonds brand.
