Google is spreading the word, and resources, for International Clean Up Weekend, which goes down on October 13th and 14th. To help you help the world, Google Maps can be used for planning and promoting clean ups that you're holding in your own local areas. Mark your clean up location on a Google Map, whether it be a park, beach, empty lot, etc. These maps and plans can then be shared with family and friends, as an invitation to join in for International Clean Up Weekend.

Google is combining all of these locations on a larger map to display the impact of the weekend. About 100 maps have been created so far, with nearly 1000 invitations having been sent out at well. Other Googley-Green efforts include RechargeIT and its support of the Climate Savers Computing Initiative. See here for more green-living resources.
