UC Berkeley is making full course lectures available online starting today. These courses will be distributed on YouTube and can be accessed here.

Berkeley has over 300 hours of videotaped courses that can be found on the university's branded YouTube channel on a variety of subjects, including chemistry, physics, biology, and search-engine technology, the last of which is from a lecture given by Google's own Sergey Brin. Many of these lectures were already available through Google Video, so this really seems to be a shift towards moving much of the content to the top video-sharing network.

What's great about this is that the lectures will be available to th public, which means that a greater good is being served. Harvard has taken similar initiatives, even using platforms like Second Life to hold live lectures and discussions.
