Google improved its market share in China about 4 percent in the most recent quarter to 22.8% according to Analysys International. Baidu.com dominates the Chinese search market with 58.1 percent share, but is growing slower than Google with only a 1 percent improvement in the same time period.

Google has recently bolstered their efforts in China by partnering with Sina and Tianya.cn. China has an estimated 162 million Web users and over a billion residents, making it one of the hottest targets for US Internet companies.
