Google Earth Takes Classified Military Data in Israel. Oops.

Google Earth's satellite images may just get Google in trouble. Google's recently updated images, which are of improved quality, expose key military and security sites, according to Israeli officials. Some of these sites include the Israel Defense Ministry headquarters in Tel Aviv, major Air Force bases and Israel's controversial (and classified) nuclear reactor in Dimona.

Seeing as this could be used by anyone with Internet access, and the sensitivity of this particular case, could Israel take measures to have these images removed? Google's ongoing projects to collect all the information the universe has to offer is stepping on a lot of toes along the way. I still think Google will need to better manage the privacy issues surrounding its satellite and photographic mapping initiatives.
