Why08.org is a new site where you can network about the upcoming elections. That's right, another one. Why08 is set up in a simple manner, though, and has an element of whimsy that makes it fun for interaction. Currently in private beta, the team has sent over an invite just for Mashable readers. Click here to sign up. Be one of the first 250, and you'll get in.
The community in Why08 is set up around who you like and who you don't like. Candidates, that is. So you pick a candidate, say whether or not you support them, and then say why. So now you've got a mini blog post that very much resembles microblogging on Twitter. Others can vote on your mini blogs posts and say whether or not they agree with you. Now you've got a community of users forming around your political opinions.
I'm guessing a Facebook application is on the way, as there are optional links to your Facebook profile when you sign up. WorldDevil is another site that lets you choose who's good and who's bad, and let the world know why.
