As a source told us yesterday, Tumblr has indeed taken funding. The 750K Series A round comes from Spark Capital and Union Square Ventures, an investor in micro-blogging rival Twitter. But Tumblr, our source says, isn't really a direct Twitter rival in the way Jaiku is; it's becoming more of a social feed, ala FriendFeed.
