One of the most popular private, invite-only BitTorrent trackers around, OiNK.cd (site currently offline), has had its servers raided, while the owner, a 24-year old man from Middlesbrough, UK, was arrested in a coordinated action of Dutch and British police.

Private torrent trackers usually don't get this kind of "attention" simply because they're much smaller than their public counterparts; however, OiNK.cd was huge, with IFPI claiming the site has had over 180.000 members at the time of raid.

The servers of the site were confiscated by the Dutch police in Amsterdam, the owner got arrested in Middlesbrough, while his father's home and his employer's offices were also raided by the UK police. The entire action stemmed from a two-year investigation conducted by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) and the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

The official press release from IFPI mentions phrases like "illegal operations" and "criminal network". Meanwhile, most of the folks over at Digg have reacted to the news with comments along the lines of "bummer".
