New GMail Features Show Up In Some Accounts

Google Blogoscoped brings a couple of screenshots of new features in GMail, most of which aren't that exciting or are simply not finished yet. However, they bring promise of a new GMail version which might show up soon. Remember, this is just one day after Google Analyst Day, where a number of GMail upgrades were revealed.

Now, however much I've tried, I haven't been able to get my GMail to show the new features. Some users' GMail simply started displaying a link to the "newer version" (the link's address is this https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2 - but clicking on it just brings me to my good old standard GMail) at the top of their GMail accounts. Others did it by logging in and out of GMail.

In any case, the new features include a slightly changed look, the possibility to import photos directly from Picasa, better message filtering options and some other cosmetic changes. See the screenshots (courtesy of Google Blogoscoped) below.
