We've followed the development of Flock 1.0 pretty closely, so we figured we should let you know that the browser has emerged from public beta and has officially launched its full release, available to all users here. There is Flock support for Macs, PCs and Linux.

As I mentioned before, the new Flock has some added social features that make it very simple to share media across networks. So given the current trends for and open platforms, could Flock help carry the torch for shared information in more voluntary ways? What I'm really wondering is how Flock could fit in with everything taking place around OpenSocial and developers platforms, and how this plays in with something as specific as a web browser.

How much of our social media capabilities should be tied to web browsers, and how important is that given the developments taking place on individual networks? I think Flock could very much be a part of the larger conversation taking place in regards to developer's platforms, and its media-centric approach makes it all the more appealing to a large number of users.
